Description: | Magic the Gathering Open Play - Any and all formats The Standard format uses the most recently released Magic sets. Commander Each player chooses a legendary creature to be their “commander” and makes a 99-card deck around that creature. Historic Historic is Magic: The Gathering Arena’s biggest sandbox, full of unique strategies, wild synergies, and nearly every card available on MTG Arena. Historic never rotates and is curated as a digital-first format. CONSTRUCTED Standard The Standard format uses the most recently released Magic sets. Modern Cards from Core Set Eighth Edition and Mirrodin through today are legal in this format. Again, decks require a minimum of sixty cards and may have a sideboard of up to fifteen cards. Legacy Allows cards from all legal sets, but bans certain cards for power level reasons. Vintage The most powerful of constructed formats, this format allows the “Power Nine” to be played. Brawl Choose your champion! Brawl is a little like Standard, a little like Commander, and a uniquely exciting deck-brewing challenge. Team Unified Constructed Build three 60-card decks with a four-of limit across all three decks in this fun and challenging format. Block Each block of expansions has its own constructed format which only allows cards released in that block’s expansions. Additionally, each deck must contain at least sixty cards. Two Headed Giant In Constructed, Two-Headed Giant has unified Constructed rules. This means that across the two decks, only four copies of any non-basic land card are allowed to be shared between them. Pauper Restricts decks to only cards with the common rarity. Pioneer Nonrotating format featuring cards from Return to Ravnica and forward |
